NPS and WES Community welcome Whiskeytown Volunteers and the public to a family friendly evening at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. Enjoy refreshments, popcorn, and the movie “Lilo and Stitch” at Oak Bottom Amphitheater to celebrate the work of the volunteers.  

WES Community appreciates the work done by the 2024 Volunteer Ambassador at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, Tyler Fuller.  His work on behalf of our NPS/Whiskeytown NRA partner has resulted in improvements at the Whiskeytown Environmental School site. Volunteers and employees have improved the picnic table gathering areas, reopened trails and removed sand barriers to prevent flooding.  These wonderful improvements have resulted in a better outdoor education experience for students!

In the recent Volunteer Newsletter, Fuller wrote, “It really can't be overstated how much volunteers help Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. Volunteers at Whiskeytown are responsible for many tasks that would otherwise not get done.  Fuller continues, “We are very grateful that our philanthropic partner, Whiskeytown Environmental School Community, has offered to supply drinks and the movie! We are also grateful that our concessioner, Whiskeytown Marinas LLC, is donating the popcorn and letting us borrow their popcorn machine!”
