2024 California Nonprofit of the Year
WES Community is proud to announce it has been selected as a 2024 California Nonprofit of the Year by Assemblywoman Megan Dahle, District 1. A celebratory luncheon at the Capitol in Sacramento will take place on California Nonprofits Day, June 5, 2024. WES Community is one of more than one hundred nonprofits that will be honored by their state senators and assembly-members for their outstanding contributions to the communities they serve.
“We are deeply humbled and honored to receive the Nonprofit of the Year 2024 Award for Assembly District 1”, said Melinda Kashuba, WES Community Board President. “Like Assemblywoman Dahle, we want students in rural Northern California to thrive. WES promotes this through hands-on science education, the development of lifelong skills, and provides inspiration to pursue higher education. Exposing children to the outdoors sparks curiosity, teaches resilience, inspires a life-long love of nature, and encourages stewardship of our public lands.”
